This training studio is excellent. I started seeing results almost immediately. The trainers are knowledgeable, fun and results-oriented. And the price is very affordable for the quality of the trainers and studio. If you can go during off-peak hours, the studio is like an oasis.

Getting back into working out again after taking a break for a couple years. Love, love, love BUF! I stumbled across one of their insta posts and decided to check it out as I hadn't been thrilled of late with the personal trainers at my regular gym. They are warm, welcoming, and TUF!! Was a bit hesitant about not having the same trainer all the time, but their entire roster is excellent!! And I enjoy the flexibility and variation more than I expected. Yes — when programmed correctly, strength and mobility training are among the most beneficial activities for older adults. Our Certified Senior Fitness Specialists tailor every session to your body, experience level, and goals. BUF Over 50 trainers are fitness professionals, not medical professionals — we recommend consulting your doctor before starting any new exercise program, especially if you have specific health considerations.
BUF Over 50 sessions are always under $100. 1-on-1 personal training is $90 per hour and $50 per half-hour. 1-on-2 training (split between two clients) is $60 per person per hour. There are no contracts, no membership fees, and no long-term commitments — pay per session. Most NYC senior personal trainers charge $150–$300 per hour, so we're a significant value without compromising on certification or experience.
We are fitness professionals, not medical professionals. For any specific health concern, please consult your doctor or physical therapist for medical guidance. Once you have clearance to exercise, our Certified Senior Fitness Specialists can build a program that fits your goals — strength, mobility, balance, or general fitness. Many of our clients train with us alongside their healthcare providers.
Most senior citizens and adults over 50 see the best results training 2–3 times per week, with at least one rest day between strength sessions. Adding mobility work on off-days helps recovery and joint health. We tailor frequency to each client's goals, schedule, and starting fitness level. Even one session per week, done consistently, produces real strength and mobility gains.
Mobility work is a common element of senior fitness programming and is often well-tolerated by older adults working on flexibility and range of motion. We are fitness professionals, not medical professionals — please consult your doctor before starting if you have a diagnosed condition. With clearance, our trainers can design a gentle, gradual program that fits your starting range of motion.
Yes. We offer virtual training sessions over Zoom for clients who can't make it to the studio, are traveling, or prefer to train at home. Virtual sessions are particularly popular with senior citizens who want consistent coaching without the commute. Rates are reduced for virtual: $60 per hour for 1-on-1 and $40 per person for 1-on-2.
